Concrete Resurfacing Products, Inc. has been resurfacing and refinishing concrete for Lilburn homeowners and businesses since 1998. We work out of our shop in Buford, and Lilburn is part of our regular service area. We do not pour concrete. Everything we do is applied over the slab you already have.

Why concrete in Lilburn wears the way it does

Lilburn’s older wooded neighborhoods keep slabs shaded and damp, which is a recipe for the dark surface staining that a coating covers permanently.

Much of the housing stock predates 1980, so the concrete is genuinely old. Older slabs tend to be thinner, poured over less prepared subgrade, and carry decades of settling from the clay beneath. Resurfacing lets you keep a sound slab and replace only the surface you actually look at.

North Georgia adds two more things on top of that. The red clay under most of the north Georgia metro expands when it takes on water and shrinks when it dries, which works a slab from underneath. And while our winters are mild, the metro still runs through dozens of freeze and thaw cycles a year, and every one of them widens whatever moisture has already found its way into the surface.

Resurfacing instead of replacing

Removing and replacing a slab means demolition, haul-off, disposal and a new pour that then has to cure before you can use it. Resurfacing keeps the existing concrete in the ground and replaces only the surface you actually see and walk on. It costs less, it is finished sooner, and it does not put a sound slab into a landfill. The one condition is that the concrete underneath has to be structurally sound, and that is the first thing we check.

Colors, patterns and materials

We are a Georgia distributor and installer of Stardek products, a professional-grade system that has been in use for over thirty-five years. There are forty stock colors, custom mixing, and a wide range of stamp patterns and textures. If you want a reactive, variegated look rather than a solid color, see acid staining. Our color chart is the place to start.

Questions we get from Lilburn homeowners

Do you have to tear out my Lilburn driveway to fix how it looks?

In most cases, no. If the slab underneath is structurally sound, we resurface the top rather than remove and replace it. That keeps the cost down, avoids the disposal of the old concrete, and takes a fraction of the time. We will tell you honestly if a slab is too far gone to be worth coating.

My slab in Lilburn has cracks. Can it still be resurfaced?

Often yes. Hairline and surface cracking can be prepared and covered. Cracks that are actively moving, or where one side has settled below the other, need to be assessed in person first, and we will say so rather than coat over a problem.

The concrete is shaded and keeps going dark and green. Does that come back?

That is organic growth in a porous surface. A sealed decorative finish is far less porous than bare concrete, so it does not take hold the same way and it cleans off far more easily when it does.
